CCIO ROUNDTABLE ON IMMIGRATION 6/8/13

The Community and Court Interpreters of Ohio, Central Region http://www.ccio.org, announces a roundtable discussion on immigration with Alvaro de Cola and Jason Darfus. Alvaro is a federally certified legal interpreter. Both he and Jason are immigration attorneys. Here’s an opportunity to learn more about ICE holders, immigration proceedings and how the legal interpreter aids in the defense without giving legal advice. Ready to build that term list? Other topics include:

-Interpreting differences in State Courts vs. Immigration Hearings

-What happens to individuals in ICE custody

-Different crimes and how they might be considered in immigration proceedings

-Common defenses/helpful factors to avoid deportation
